2018 Meeting the Challenge – Pennsylvania’s Education for Children and Youth Experiencing Homelessness Program Statewide Conference

October 24-25, 2018 | Sheraton Harrisburg Hershey Hotel, Harrisburg, Pa.


The conference will support the requirements of the Every Student Succeeds Act of 2015 that enhance and expand professionals’ work with students experiencing homelessness including: responsibilities of school district homeless liaisons; components of the McKinney-Vento Homeless Assistance Act integral to student success; effective identification and use of school and community resources to remove barriers to learning related to homeless situations; and best practices, programs, services and collaborative strategies to better serve students and their families experiencing homelessness.

School district homeless liaisons, shelter staff, educators, pupil services personnel, guidance counselors and other professionals working with children and youth experiencing homelessness are encouraged to attend.
